TEMP$ Weatherization
The Taking Energy Measures Personally = $avings (TEMP$) program is an annual one day event in which teams of Enable Madison County volunteers weatherize the homes of clients by putting plastic on windows, insulating pipes, caulking breaches, installing smoke detectors, replacing storm doors and performing other small repairs.
Assessor meeting
August
Volunteers should have previous experience with TEMP$ weatherization services. Each year an average of 115 homes must be assessed during August and September.
Team Meeting
October
Team leaders must attend required training to receive information about work day and select homes for your teams to winterize.
TEMP$ Work Day
1st saturday in November
Teams of any size work together on the 1st Saturday each November to prepare the homes of our aging neighbors in Madison County.
The success of this program depends entirely on the support of our local community. With more and more volunteers working every year, we have been able to provide additional services such as yard work and wheelchair ramp repairs. Enable Madison County clients benefit not only from the home improvements, but also from the camaraderie and personal attention paid them by our volunteers!
